The league is expected to conclude this month.
As the Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) league nears conclusion, coach Peter Mwathi is already thinking of the next one.
The tactician admits that the performance of the team this season has been wanting, but remains confident that they will have a better show next season.
Having played 15 matches and lost three, coach Mwathi says the squad is unchartered waters.
"We have not found ourselves in such a position in a long time. With three matches remaining, we are fighting to maintained a Super Cup slot. We have three matches remaining and we have to win at least two to be on the safe side," Mwathi said.
As part of his preparations for next season, the tactician has recruited four players in an attempt to add to the team's depth.
"Before the current season, we were only able to make two additions to the team. That left us short in three other positions that needed filing.
Recruitment for us is largely dependend on secondary school games and the Covid-19 disruption interrupted that flow and the transition has not been good.
However, the new additions are here to bridge that gap and even as we fight to be part of the pre-season Super Cup, we are preparing for a better season," Mwathi said in an interview with Mozzart Sport.
Additionally, the team chemistry is also affected by the exit of some key players while others who are still with the team nut have completed their studies at the institution are not always available for training.

Last season, Strathmore finished second on the log, missing out on the title won by National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) but now, as the tactician admits, they are out of title contention.
The millers lead the standings on 32 points after a 16-match unbeaten run. Ulinzi are second, on 30 points (before Sunday's match against General Service Unit) and are also yet to lose a game.
